Retired and adrift, Harold Fry's monotonous life is suddenly stirred by a letter from Queenie Hennessy, an old friend confined to hospice care, bidding her final farewell. Spurred by a chance meeting immediately after reading Queenie's words, Harold makes an impulsive decision to forego mailing his response and, instead, deliver it in person, believing that as long as he walks the 600 miles to her, she will live. Donning ill-suited yachting shoes and without any preparation, Harold embarks on a transformative journey across England. Along this trek, he encounters a tapestry of human experiences that awaken memories, regrets, and long-buried emotions. With each step, Harold inches toward self-discovery and reconciliation, while in his absence, Maureen, his wife, begins to feel his lack, contemplating her own feelings and their fractured relationship. What begins as a whimsical mission for Harold evolves into a poignant quest for redemption, hope, and love, challenging the couple to find their way back to each other in the twilight of their lives.
