Imprisoned in the Lodz Ghetto, Elsi, a young Jewish girl, confronts the harsh reality of her mother's attempt to terminate her pregnancy and the bleak prospects of their lives under the Nazi regime. Joining a resistance group, Elsi finds courage in the most dire of circumstances. Meanwhile, Matilda, a girl with the 'perfect Aryan' look, is torn from her family in Romania and subjected to German attempts at ideological transformation. Yet, her indomitable spirit seeks to offer hope and a means of escape to her fellow captives. On the other hand, Willem, a high-ranking Nazi doctor assigned to both the ghetto and Auschwitz, grapples with the horrific acts he witnesses and his role in the machinery of genocide. His internal conflict may pave the way for redemption or despair. As Hitler's obsession with 'racial purity' devastates Europe, the fates of these three souls converge, bound by the need for liberation and the search for humanity in a world of darkness.
