In the sequel to the Printz Honor Book 'Scythe,' the dystopian world of scythes faces new challenges as Rowan and Citra take divergent paths in their roles. Rowan, now a fugitive known as an urban legend, has taken justice into his own hands by targeting corrupt scythes. Meanwhile, Citra, as Scythe Anastasia, gleans with sympathy and challenges the status quo, drawing danger and dissent. Amidst the growing tension, the all-seeing but non-intervening Thunderhead observes the flaws in the system. As corruption spreads and Citra's life is on the line, the question becomes whether the Thunderhead will remain a silent witness or intervene to rectify the unravelling world.
